My Calling
After many years of wondering what I should do with my life I have found my true calling. Sharing the joy of animals with children. After the experience of having 60 kids at once on my small farm I have come to appreciate a couple at a time. The animals appreciate it too.
My friend brought her nephews to the farm to see the animals. The baby goats appeared to be their favorite.
Learning to put the baby down gently.
Daphne cooperated long enough for a good tummy rub.
So this is why I have 15 goats, 15 chickens, 2 pigs and a llama. I thought I was just crazy.
This is the only photo I can take credit for as the rest were taken by foxtrot photography

It's nice to know that whay you do is what you were meant to do. Many people go through life never knowing.
What a great post, Wendy. Looks like the kids and the goats enjoyed themselves. I remember working with hogs and how much they loved to have their bellies rubbed - they start that "oh-yeah" grunting. I'm glad you've found your calling - you give hope to us all. Take care, from KY.
What a wonderful calling that is!
Definitely not crazy. Not everyone finds their calling... you are among the blessed! ;o)
life is sweet.
isn't it great when we figure things like that in life? Mine completely changed two or so years ago when we started our farm and got our animals. Now I can't imagine things being any different.
And so, how does it feel to realize you're not crazy after all?
lol
I bet your animals love having all that joy and energy around them, too!
This is good. Goats love the attention. I can say that with confidence. :)
I am with you on that one! I just recently started a small business. Well kind of a hodge podge of a farm business. I am doing pony rides, traveling petting zoos and am doing a farm yard summer camp for little kids. I have about 10 attendees and they are absolutely loving learning about farm life. The joy in a little childs eyes the first time they ride a pony, is absolutely priceless. I feel blessed to be able to be able to be a part of those kind of moments.
