I thought the same as Farmgirldk! =) But, my first thought was something along the lines of saddling up and jumping over everything in sight! What a great looking horse!

No I didn't bring that home. They are at the neighbor's farm. They have 4 of these huge "queen's carriage horses"

I can tell you are having such fun. The lighting is perfect in these photos, too.
I have to say that 2,4,6,9 are my favorites. I love the full-on front face shot, especially.
Aren't horses wonderful to photograph?
I like to sketch and paint, too.
But horses are my most difficult subject because they are just so dang perfect. All those curves, musculature, bone structure, individual movements and so on make it so complicated for me.
But I could never tire of just spending time watching horses be horses.
So, how's Sunny doing today? :)

Cleveland Bays are so rare to see anymore! They are beautiful horses with such substance! Great pics!
We always called them 'blood bays'.. we have 2 of them. One is a purebreed Morgan the other 1/2 morgan 1/2 percheron and he is BEAUTIFUL!! I have never heard of a horse being called a queens carriage horse before? can you explain that a little bit. I grew up with horses and trained for most of my life, but have never heard that term before.. :) teach me!!!
Heidi, Cleveland Bays are an English breed of horse, bred to pull carriages. The Queen uses them to pull her carriages in parades. They are very big and handsome. They have a head the size of a small child.
My neighbor's horses came straight from England.
That's all I know.
Oh oh oh .... my heart. I'm losing it. First I just love bays...period...the chances of me ever getting another horse that isn't bay is well....slim to none.
Second....before Obie came into my life. I considered Cleveland Bays. They are such a wonderful breed.

COOL!!!! I didnt know that there was a 'special' breed of horse for the queenie... LOL I should have guessed!! :) Thanks for the information - I have NEVER heard of them....
