A Rouen Duckling

I grew up on the banks of Clover Creek. My backyard was a wetland full of Mallard ducks. When my son got ducks many years ago we chose Rouens, the domesticated Mallard. Too heavy to fly they still have the same beautiful wild coloring that the wild Mallards have.

And the ducklings look like the same wild ducklings I saw every spring of my youth.

They are very cute, Wendy. Your farm is expanding and diversifying! Good for you.

They do, indeed, look like our little team in the pond. :) Have you named them all yet??? Can you even tell them apart, might be a better question. :)

I do like the Rouen ducks, but my favorite are the jet black Cayuga.
