Seeing Double

I decided to eat my first two eggs for breakfast. Yes, two eggs. They are very small pullet eggs. So I cracked the first one.....Then I cracked the second.....
Does that mean I really ate four eggs?

What? In those little pullet eggs (I'm imagining that they're about the same size as mine) you had double-yolkers??? Um, guess what? I haven't had the nerve to crack mine open yet! :-)

Come on crack it open and eat it. You just can't think about it.
They were the tiniest yolks I have ever seen.

I think you ate 4 eggs! I haven't gotten eggs yet from my former biddies(I'm jealous). But, I still get 2 eggs a day from Chick and Adee. No double yolks though.

no you only ate 2!! We have an old hen - Henrietta, how original - she has had - NO LIE 3 yokes in her eggs and they are the size of a small grapfruit - ok not a grapefruit but they are slightly smaller than avacodo!! You swear it would kill her!! But she drops them where she sets and could care less!! LOL

Well, if you're going by yolks, yeppers, you ate 4 eggs! hahaha

Do you remember when I was getting daily double and triple yolk eggs?
Jeez! That was so much fun finding those treasures. Unfortunately it only lasted about 3 months and then my girls were fully regulated. We haven't had any more triple and double yolks now for about 2 months.

So, congrats on those dubba yokkas!

I look forward to your triple yolk post, too!

OK - I know nothing about farming, chickens, or eggs (besides that they are DELICIous) but two yolks in one egg? Never heard of a thing!

I have been finding that a lot of our big eggs are double yokers too. I wonder what that is? ~Kim

Country Girl, It's kind of like having twins. They aren't quite regulated.
Now what I wonder is....if those eggs were fertile and incubated, would two chicks come out?

Mere, come over for a lesson in animal husbandry. We just didn't have lunch together much. I bored everyone else with my chicken and the egg lessons.
We can't let John grow up not knowing about such things.
