Llama Training in a New Year

Part of Willow's training is getting her use to people. Socialize her. Goldilocks took to llama training like a natural.

They soon became good friends.

Goldilocks and my son were home for the New Year and I put her to work training Willow. Willow responded well and I wish I had Goldilocks here for awhile. She has the patience to wait Willow out.

She still won't let us touch her but ohhhhh we sure want to.

can you let a llama drag a line? I would have to have put my hands on that beautiful girl by now!

I don't know Holly. I'm kind of at a bit of a loss at how to proceed. I want to be able to put a halter on her and lead her at least.

Is it my imagination or is she a lot smaller than Koo? She is so pretty! You will figure it out. If anyone can, it will be you!

Call me if you want to talk about what I've done with Kai llama.
I don't think Kai will ever *love* being loved on, but she allows a halter, loves to walk on the lead, and lets me put my arm around her neck and stroke her when she's eating her treats.
Since all of that goes 100% against her basic nature and how she was when we first got her, I'm very happy. :-)

I will call you Danni because I'm a little stumped on how to progress. I would be happy with her excepting a halter and being led....anything after that is gravy.

Marigold, She is a lot smaller and since Goldilocks is pretty small herself you can really tell in the pictures. She is only 2 so may grow more but I did see her father and he wasn't very big either.
I really really like her.

Listen to Danni, she knows about these things. I think Holly is warming up to all of you and she will, with time and love, be very ready to be touched.

We llama lovers need to stick together.
just sayin'.

I just saw your "I really really like her" comment to Marigold.
This made me smile so big. :-)

Still it is progress. If she's in a smaller area where you don't touch her but she learns to trust you would that help? I'm sure time is going to be the biggest factor.
