And He Walked Away

Monday morning while going downhill into a busy intersection roundabout Hubby lost his brakes. He was able to avoid hitting anything other than the very back corner of a log truck. His dump truck flipped over spilling its contents and crushing Hubby's collarbone and breaking a rib. Considering that there was no room in that smashed cab for a human body I'd say he was very lucky...as were all the cars that happened to be in the intersection that day.
With surgery on Tuesday to piece together his collarbone that is now in 5 pieces and a potential 6 month recovery, I may as well throw out my honey do list. Now I'm doing everything.
But that's ok. It could have been so much worse.

As the wife of truck driver I understand no worries about the honey do list and how blessed he was to only have the injuries he has. So happy he is okay.

By the looks of the truck, he is very lucky. And very lucky no one else was involved. Hope he has a speedy recovery, put the honey do list on the back burrner. As always this is the type of thing no one needs added to their plate, but once again nothing is so bad it could not be worse. Take care.

Oh Wendy, I am sending good healing thoughts for you both. I've been thinking about you a lot this past week, and now I understand why!

Healing takes its own time and pace, so call up your patience reserves. The to-do lists will be there when all is said and done.

Lucky stars and angels were all busy last Monday.

His skill at handling that rig is what kept him and those around him alive. So, not just luck, I think. Healing thoughts going your way.

I kept looking at your blog and hoping nothing too dire had kept you from appearing. That truck looks dire, all right. Will say a prayer of thanks that the honey-do list will resume, in time.

Oh, my! Angels were indeed at work! The Goatmother and Goatfather just had a chance meeting with a deer on the highway coming home from the Goatmother's radiation treatment. It totaled the car. Thankfully the angels were at work there, too, and no one was hurt except the car and, unfortunately, the deer. :( Sending healing thoughts to hubby and strength to you to manage through doing it all.

Your husband and You are very fortunate! So glad it wasn't worse, but sure hope the recovery goes quickly. 6 months sounds like a long time, but isn't it shocking how fast time flies! So glad everything that counts is on the mend!

Hi Wendy, I hadn't been online for a long time and finally a couple weeks ago saw this post about your husbands truck wreck. I've been wanting to send you a note to say how glad I am that nothing more serious happened, it doesn't look like he could have walked away from the picture. Wow, Angels at work, Hang in there!
