Good grief!!! What a cool shot - can't believe you caught that.
The previous post about the eagles is quite amazing. They are incredible creatures. I've only seen them in flight up many feet and get goose bumps. I'd sure keep close watch of anything small enough that could be a meal - dog or otherwise.
I read somebody's blog post last year - can't even remember who it was - but they had come upon a pair of eagles that had fought and gotten entangled. One was dead and I can't remember if the other was or not, but she managed to take them to the authorities or something. It was quite the post.
Phyllis, they are heavy now with the salmon run and most will move on once that is over but a few will stay all year. Just talked to my neighbor today. She said she was having lunch on her deck with a friend and they heard a whoosh and then felt the spray of an eagle relieving himself as he flew over the table.

What a fantastic picture! Such luck that you were there at the right time with your camera.
Who is that little rascal?
Do a "Babe" and enter her in agility. Do the rules say it has to be a dog?
Grandma Hannah Belle taught???
Wow! Hope you have her entered in the Goat Olympics.
This one isn't related Hannah Belle, Marigold. This is Bliss, she is a Boots and Jackpot baby.
Woo-hoo, look at her go!
When will you post again ? Been looking forward to this !
Well, related to Hannah Belle or not, perhaps you better consider the purchase of a nice horse trailer. :)
What a great photo! You have your work cut out for you!
Look at the goat jump! Wow! Great capture!
LOL, great shot!
I was just passing through and popping on blogs that I've never been on before. So greetings folks from Lebanon county's Amish community. Richard

Do the eagles stay nearby all year round?
