Coffee Break

Every day at the same time I take my coffee break. I walk by the health room to pick up my friend so we can talk horses and goats for 15 minutes. So I was a bit surprised yesterday when I showed up around the same time and my friend was on the phone and said "Oh you're here already? Can we wait a few minutes?"
Then when she did come to break a few minutes later she was nervous as a cat. As I talked to her she kept looking over my head out the window and would say "Uh huh".
I could tell she wasn't really listening.

And I was talking about horses and hay....her favorite things!

She all of a sudden jumped up and told me to come with her. We went out on the front porch and I saw this....

Then this.....

Coming for me!

As my principal watched out the window, I crawled into the seat of the cart alongside Molly, horse trainer extraordinaire, and she took me for a little drive.

We went down the street past my little farm, turned around, and then this happened.

I got to drive!

I have never driven before and I tell you it is much harder than it looks. But what a feeling.

A few minutes later we were back at school, Molly dropped me off and went on her way.

Thank you Breeze. Thank you Molly.

And most of all, Thank you Gail. I should have known you'd have a very good reason to not want to talk horses and hay.

I expect my husband to turn and ask at any moment if I'm ok, b/c I'm certain my skin is a shade of green right now. He'll think I'm ill, but really I'm turning green with envy. I would so love to learn to drive one day! I just think it looks like so much fun! What a friend you have to share a coffee break with! She's definatly a keeper!

What an awesome experience! Yes, I could get into this also. The granddaughter is amazed and intrigued by your website, loves to look at the pictues. At first she laughed at me, but now she's hooked on your site also. Keep up the good work, I love the pictures!

What a fun gift for you, Wendy! Was this just because, or to get you interested in having/doing this yourself?

Love your sunshine, too!

It has been my dream to own a pony and a cart since I was about 9 and my mom's friend brought her pony and cart to my brother's birthday. We had a long paved drive and the old movies show me either in the cart or running along side. I was working with Sunny on driving when he died so yes it has been something I've wanted to do. I have decided not to get another equine and I think my friends are trying to remind me what I love about horses.

How cool is THAT!!? Beautiful trap and horse too. My friend drives all her horses and mules...someday I would love to have a horse trained for driving. What's intimidating to me is just putting the harness on!! Great pics thanks for taking us along. :)
