A little over a month ago I went out to Poppy Patch farm to look at a goat that I thought I might be interested in buying. We just didn't click that doe and I but a darling tiny doe named Cute as a Button wouldn't leave me alone. As I looked at the goats she was always right there wanting me to scratch her head. Well needless to say I fell in love with this little goat. I made it quite clear she was the one I wanted. She wasn't for sale. I pestered and begged but it got me nowhere so I left with an empty crate and a promise that if she was ever for sale I would get first chance.
The chance came. On the last day of the fair she was offered to me and I jumped at the chance. I'm not that surprised because I knew she was meant to be mine.
She is very small, very friendly, has a beautiful first freshening udder, and has a lovely pedigree.
She will come bred to the buck of my choice so I chose a buck named Rebel that puts gorgeous udders on his daughters. Since she will be bred first I won't pick her up until December because kids in May fit my schedule.She had two lovely kids this year that were bought by someone in New Hampshire.

Great news!! Boy does she have a great udder or what?! I'm glad that you were offered her since you had made a connection with her at the farm. I hope her kidding goes smoothly in May. Keep us posted.

I did so go to Poppy Patch farmgirl. It was wonderful to see all the lovely Nigerians. I also got to spend the fair across the aisle from their stalls. They are a wealth of information and take very good care of their goats.
You really should have crawled out of your sickbed to get there.

Cute as a Button is simply called Buttons. Now I need everyone to think up names for her babies. We could go with a sewing notions theme or the comparing theme like _____as a______.

Do you still have sweet pete? I think he might be a doe instead of a buck. It turns out that the one we kept is a doe and I was saying they were all bucks due a friend sexing the rabbit we kept and they all looked the same down there.

Funny you should ask...he/she happens to be over at the neighbor's who has a Holland Lop doe that they wanted bred. Hmmmm I wonder how that's going for them.
It never occurred to me that he might be a doe:)
When you get your rabbit back let me know if it is a he or she? I did get in contact with another person who has one of the sibblings and it is a buck for sure.
